Photo Gallery | Mid-South group to reflect on Torah vandalism

A group of Mid-Southerners are responding to hate with education.

The Torah scroll was vandalized in a Jackson, Tenn. hotel last month.

It belonged to the Margolin Hebrew Academy located in Memphis.

Police said 24 year-old Justin Baker is responsible for the act.

Now the Margolin Hebrew Academy is hosting a community wide event.

During the event they will reflect on the Torah vandalism.

They will also discuss ways to promote understanding and an end to intolerance.

Event details:

  • The event is Monday at the Baron Hirsch Congregation.
  • It's located at 400 South Yates Road, and starts at 7 p.m.
