St. Agnes Academy student to attend Presidential Inauguration | People
St. Agnes Academy sophomore, Molly Coffey, has been selected by the National Youth Leadership Forum to attend the Presidential Inauguration on January 19 in Washington, D.C.
Along with a handful of other talented students from across the country, Molly will attend the inauguration and a five day High School Presidential Inaugural Conference.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the trip to our nation’s capital will be seeing the President take the oath of office for a second term, however, the five day trip will also include many other notable moments.
Molly and her group will meet representative from the College Democrats and College Republicans of America.
There will be a special keynote addresses from former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander and four star general, Wesley Clark.
The students will also learn about the tactics and strategies used to run a successful political campaign, the many roles of the President.
There will be panel discussions relating to the President’s cabinet and advisors and their role in government.
Discussions will also include issues important to the youth of today and the importance of getting involved in the community.
This is an amazing opportunity for a young Memphian and one that will create memories of a lifetime for Molly Coffey.
