MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) - A Memphis man sits in jail without bond awaiting to be arraigned on a first degree murder charge.
Kervin Jackson, 28, is accused of shooting his 20-year-old brother-in-law to death.
Police say Jackson admitted to walking into an East Memphis home and killing his sister's husband.
The shooter's mother, Pearlie Campbell, lives in the home where the shooting happened. She told police the victim, Taumarien Covington, was sitting at her kitchen table when he was shot right in front of her.
Neighbors are shocked over the shooting.
"It's one of those, you never know what's going on in people's separate lives," said a neighbor. "It just happens. Especially in today's society."
Jackson will face a judge in court Tuesday.
