Nine arrested in hotel room drug bust | News

MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) – Nine people were arrested after allowing police inside their hotel room on Sunday.

The manager at the Embassy Suites near the intersection of Shady Grove Road and Poplar Avenue called police to report underage drinking and smoking in one of the hotel rooms.

When police arrived, they knocked on the door and were let inside. On the table, police say they saw a large tray of Jell-O shots and a bag of liquor bottles. Before entering the room, officers noted a strong scent of burned marijuana.

Officers heard noise coming from a bathroom and found two more people, including Deonndrica Miller, 18, who rented the room, hiding inside.

Police say the two were in possession of marijuana.

All nine people inside the hotel room were arrested and now face possession charges.
