(WMC-TV) - You might want to take an extra buck with you if you're heading to the Shelby County Clerk's office in East Memphis to get your license plate Friday.
The county clerk's offices will be taking dollar donations on Friday as part of "Give to Live Day," a day that promotes organ and tissue donation.
All the money will go to help organ donation and organ procurement agencies around the state.
And Shelby County residents have proven willing to give. The Shelby County Clerk's office raised more money for organ donation than any other clerk's office in the state during both May and June.
“Tennesseans have given generously when renewing vehicle tags and have helped educate more people than ever on the importance of organ donation," said Shelby County Clerk Wayne Mashburn. "It’s all about saving lives.”
