Police: Man caught pirating movie at Malco | Crime

An accused motion picture pirate is charged with making an unwanted cameo in a fright flick.

Two Malco Paradiso employees caught two brothers inside a showing of Paranormal Activity 4 recording the film on a handheld camera.

Adrian Crook, 20, and a brother who is a juvenile, were both stopped by Malco security after the film let out. Security found a Kodak digital camera in Crook's pocket with a partial recording of Paranormal Activity 4 on the memory card. According to an affidavit of complaint, Crook admitted to being the one who took the recording by holding the camera above his head.

In early February, detectives filed a warrant for Adrian Crook's arrest. He was booked into the Shelby County Jail on Monday, charged with one court of Unauthorized Recording of Theatrical Motion Picture.
