(WMC-TV) - Local musicians and friends of the Memphis music scene will join together this weekend for a benefit for local guitarist Pat Taylor.
Pat, who was a member of the very popular 80s band, The Breaks, was recently diagnosed with cancer.
In an effort to show support and to offer financial assistance to Pat and his wife, Susanne Jerome Taylor, a group of friends and local musicians put together a Memphis music packed fund raiser that spans two weekends. The first show took place Sunday, September 23 with a full house at Neil's Music Room on Quince in East Memphis.
The day featured a myriad of local bands and celebrities and was topped off by a reunion of another hugely popular Memphis 80s band, Creed. On September 30, more musicians, bands, and Memphis notables will come together again for another day and night of great music in support of Pat. This Sunday will feature the first reunion in more than twenty years of local band Target featuring lead singer, Memphian, and former lead singer of Survior, Jimi Jamison.
The event will again take place at Neil's Music Room at 5727 Quince Road. Doors open at 1 p.m. There is a $15 cover charge. A live and silent auction are also part of the festivities. All funds raised during the two weekend event will go directly to Pat and Susanne Taylor.
