New barbershop offers classic feel | Business
“There’s nothing else quite like it in Memphis,” said local businessman Steve Milam in reference to this month’s opening of Roosters Men’s Grooming Center (MGC) at 6300 Popular Avenue. Milam is the owner of the new store, a national franchise that offers hair care services for men and boys, combined with an old fashioned barbershop experience.
The public is invited to attend an official ribbon cutting ceremony that will be held with the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, during the store’s grand opening week.
Milam, who worked previously in the financial services industry, reviewed more than 20 different companies before investing in Roosters.
“Along with the business model which is very straightforward, I am very impressed with the company’s management team,” said Milam. “Roosters’ has the ‘salon’ feel for guys with services not available at other places.”
Customers are invited to relax in oversized leather barber chairs and select from a variety of custom services including precision haircuts and shaves with hot steam towels, deep cleansing facial massages and moisturizing lotions.
