College students work to fund new coffee shop through online campaign | Arts & Culture
A group of Mid-South college students are working to make a nonprofit coffee shop become a reality through an online campaign. The Avenue Coffee team says this would be more than just another coffee shop.
"We have set the highest standards for our coffee and we are confident that by funding Avenue Coffee you will be helping to give Memphis the best coffee shop it has ever seen," writes members from the Avenue Coffee team on their indiegogo campaign website. "We maintain these high standards because of our higher spiritual calling. We are all committed Christians who wish to do everything we do the best way that we can. We also consider Avenue Coffee to be a place with a greater calling. We want to foster an atmosphere of creativity and conversation within the shop that gives people an open place to seek truth."
The shop would only use products from local roasters. Also, part of the mission is to incorporate creative arts such as music, photography, painting, and film.
Avenue Coffee would be located near the University of Memphis.
